Shrimp
Text and photo:

Dressing: Ingmar "Pingo" Eriksson
All
the maytime is excellent time to flyfish seatrout in the Baltic Sea,
specially this year, because the waters are still cold. Pingo is perhaps
the most experienced seatrout flyfisherman in Finland. With this shrimp
dressing only he has caught over 60 trouts. Pingo preferes simple, but
fishing dressings. rather he has in his wallet many color and size
variations of a fly as exact imitations. Impression is the word to
describe his teqniques. Normally he does not name his flies. The name
Pingos Shrimp is given by SFM-toimitus, because over 60 seatrouts fill the most
puritanistic criteriums to name flies.
In
the springtime seatrouts are loading energy after the cold winter.
Important places are bladderwrack zones where family Gammarus shrimps
live. Pingo's Shrimp is a impression of these animals.
